To find the percent of increase or decrease
We first find the difference of the two values.
Then we divide this difference by the original value and multiply the result by 100 to get the increase or decrease percentage.
Here The initial population was 5,400.
The increased population is 6,000.
The increase of population is 6000 - 5400 = 600
The percentage increase = [tex] \frac{600}{5400}(100) [/tex] = 11.11 %
Hence the percentage of increase 11.11%
Since, the population of a town increased from 5,400 to 6,000 people. We have to calculate the percent of increase.
Firstly, we will find the difference of 6000 and 5400,
6000-5400 = 600
Secondly, we will divide 600 by 5400,
So, [tex] \frac{600}{5400} [/tex] = 0.1111
Thirdly, we will multiply 0.1111 by 100%
= 11.11 %
Therefore, there is 11.11% increase in the population of a town.
