To help World War II veterans transition back to civilian life, Congress implemented the GI bill. It gave money for the veterans to go to college, set loans for them who want to purchase a house, and have a small business. It helped them seek for work and provided them job loss assistance for the year.
In 1944, Congress created the G.I. Bill - also known as the Servicemen's Readjustment Act - that established hospitals, established low interest mortgages, and provided funding the returned soldiers in order to help them return to and readjust to civilian life.
