  In Stalin´s opinion the USSR decide to go to war with Germany because war was forced upon them by Hitler (D).

  They had signed a non-agression pact between the two countries but two years after on 1941 Hitler decided to broke it and attacked the Soviet Union under the operation Barabarossa to capture the western part of it and acquire the oil reserves of the Caucasus.
