SELECTION OF LEADERS, CITIZEN PARTICIPATION, CHECKS AND BALANCES. Democracy : -
Democracy is a system , It is a system of government were the leaders are selected by the citizens of that particular country through voting system for some period of time.(say 3 to 5 years).
This system establishes the power given to the people.If a leader fails to give a good governance, The ruling parties may thrown away from the power by next election. And hence the government is to the people, work for the people and elected by the people.
The liberalism of media/ writers are highly appreciated and medias and journals are acted as a buffer between the government and the citizens.
The minority peoples welfare also preserved and protected since they also forms the part of the society and having voting rights and plays an important role in voting election.
Hence in democracy, In a single word and line " In democratic state every citizen is a King"

Autocracy:-
In the other hand autocracy is system of government were the supreme powers are given to an individual person may called as autocrat . The laws and important decisions can be framed by the autocrat and implemented to the state without other cabinet ministers decision. This can be suitable for some part of the society and has a biased view on other part.
The liberalism of media/ writers are completely blocked or restricted and the secrecy of governments actions are unknown to the society.
History reveals the autocracy are not long lasting, and the autocrats are thrown away by the people by means of revolution and undergo master punishment such as guillotined , stoned to death, hanging till death,etc..
Autocratic countries : North korea, Cuba etc.,
