I believe the answers are B) Greek scholars fleeing wars in Constantinople came to Italy with ancient manuscripts and vast knowledge, and D) Italian city-states worked together to raise money to repair and restore ancient masterpieces. 
It can't be C because Italy was right in the middle of the Black Plague and it can't be A because Florence, Italy, the city where the Renaissance first started, is not on the coast.
