 x = the granddaughter's age x + 2 = the grandson's age   x + x + 2 ≥ 12        Collect like terms.            2x ≥ 12            Divide both sides by 2.              x ≥ 6 years       x + 2 ≥ 8 years
Grandson=granddaughter + 2
Grandson +gradaughter = 12

Make grandson x and granddaughter y

X=y + 2
X + y = 12

(Y + 2) + y = 12

2y + 2= 12
2y = 10
Y = 5
Granddaughter is 5
Grandson is 7
