An HVAC technician is planning to install air conditioning for the four identical offices shown in the drawing. The air conditioning unit can cool a multi-room area of 700–800 square feet. If the hallways are not included, is the unit the right size?

The question shows how important it is to review the drawings before making
any decisions on an engineering design project like this one.

Since the drawings have not been included, one must resist the urge to say
anything one way or the other regarding the proper sizing of the proposed
refrigeration system.

Any comment at this point, that could be interpreted as an engineering evaluation
or opinion, would be foolhardy and irresponsible.  Although the engineer may well
be as eager for a decision, bringing closure to the design phase of the project, as
the customer is, he must hold out for the drawings, and say nothing without them.
