Multiplying the second equation by -2 and adding them up (to get rid of a variable), we get 7y=21. Dividing by 7, we get y= 3. Plugging it into the second equation, we get x-3(2)=-4.5 = x-6 Adding 6 to both sides, we get x= -4.5 + 6= 1.5
