Because scientists rely on the scientific method for scientific investigation. The scientific method is a body of techniques that encompass the systematic process that entails using measurable observations to test, formulate, or modify a hypothesis. a hypothesis is then proposed as an explanation for the observed phenomenon. However, this method is flexible and doesn't have to start at any specified point. An investigation can state at any stage of this systemic process. The steps of the method however, must be followed when presenting the hypothesis.
