Greetings!

"Solve the equation [tex] 2a+3=1/2(6+4a)[/tex]"...

Solve for a.
[tex]2a+3=1/2(6+4a)[/tex]
Distribute the Parenthesis.
[tex]2a+3=(1/2*6)+(1/2*4a)[/tex]
Simplify.
[tex]2a+3=(0.5*6)+(0.5*4a)[/tex]
[tex]2a+3=3+2a[/tex]
Add -2a to both sides.
[tex](2a+3)+(-2a)=(3+2a)+(-2a)[/tex]
Simplify.
[tex]3=3[/tex]
Add -3 to both sides.
[tex](3)+(-3)=(3)+(-3)[/tex]
Simplify.
0=0

All real numbers are a solution to the variable a.

Hope this helps.
