The total number of pieces of cake left at a wedding is can be represented by P(t) = 350(0.8)t where t represents time in minutes and 350 is the number of pieces of cake that the bride and groom started with when the wedding begins. What would the range be if we used the appropriate domain to find out how many pieces were left after 5, 10 and 15 minutes?

Respuesta :

I believe it is supposed to be (0.8^x) because if it was like it was written, ur cake would be getting bigger.
ur range is gonna be P(t) while ur domain is t
P(t) = 350(0.8)^t

after 5 minutes
P(5) = 350(0.8^5)
P(5) = 350(114.688)
P(5) = 115 pieces <==

after 10 minutes
P(10) = 350(0.8^10)
P(10) = 37.581
P(10) = 38 pieces <==

after 15 minutes
P(15) = 350(0.8^15)
P(15) = 12.315
P(15) = 12 pieces <==

I believe you meant 0.8^t. Then the number of pieces left would be:
t=5
350 (0.8)^5=114.7
t=10
350 (0.8)^10=37.6
t=15
350(0.8)^15=12.3
