how far is 3 blocks? 3 divided by 8 = .375 of a mile. 

1 block is equal to .125 of a mile. .125x8 is equal to 1mile.
do .125x3 if you want. you will get .375

marty walked 4 blocks to the right then 3 blocks to the left
4+3=7
7x.125=.875 of a mile. 

8/(1/4) = 2
.125x2= .25
8+2
1 1/4 miles is equal to 10 blocks
