The percentage of the offspring that are homzygous recessive is 50%
What is homzygous recessiveness?
It is a condition whereby the two alleles that make a gene are the same.
In the Punnet's square, there are 4 offspring with the genotypes Tt, tt, Tt, and tt.
From the genotypes, two offspring have tt and are said to be homzygous recessive. The remaining two are Tt each and are said to be heterozygous.
Thus: 2/4 = 1/2 or 50%.
Recessive means that the allele will not be expressed in heterozygous state. In other words, the effect of the allele can be masked by another allele that is dominant.
