Point for them the virtue of slaughter,
Make pain to them the excellence of killing

A. He uses irony because it is actually not virtuous or excellent to kill.
B. He uses imagery because you can visualize the soldiers slaughtering and killing.
C. He alludes to a past war.
D. He uses alliteration because the words suggest the sound of slaughtering and killing.

A seems to be the best answer because killing is not excellent and slaughtering is not virtuous. 

And, there is no alliteration used (D), it could be C but nothing of a past war is mentioned, you'd need more knowledge, and it wouldn't be B becasue it really isn't putting a image in your head.
