raw sewage within a water ecosystem can kill fish because respiration by the microbes in the sewage reduces the concentration of oxygen within the water.

Respuesta :

Fish ecosystem  growth, development, and survival may be impacted by pollutants present in sewage in the following ways: Excess nutrients can cause algal blooms, which in turn lower dissolved oxygen levels and eventually lead to widespread extinctions of marine life.

The presence of sewage draws bacteria, which break down the waste and use a lot of oxygen in the process, depleting the oxygen levels in the nearby ecosystem  ocean. When sewage this occurs, fish and other animals have a difficult time surviving, and in certain severe circumstances, this can result in a "dead zone" where little can grow or live in ecosystem  .
