After the accomplices had moved and talked for two or three hours, they were consulted independently about their own inclinations and qualities as well as about their impression of their date. Walster and her associates observed that the main significant determinant of members' preference for their date was their physical attractiveness. None of different qualities — even the apparent insight of the accomplice — made a difference.
