Devolpement of red blood cells (RBC): stem cell -> blood cell -> RBC

so the sequence is:

- stem cells arise

- signaling triggering differentiation in stem cells

- genes for production of undifferentiated blood cells

- signaling to produce RBCs

All other cells with specific roles are developed from stem cells, which are the body's building blocks. In the correct circumstances, stem cells divide to create other cells known as daughter cells, either in the body or in a lab. The oxygen in our lungs is transported by red blood cells (RBCs) to the rest of our bodies. They then RBCs find  their way back to our lungs, where carbon dioxide is expelled.
