This is a textbook classic example, as the environmental selection is very clear in this example, initially, there were more clear moths than dark ones, this last phenotype was more predated, after the industrial revolution, the pollution generated by coal burn turned dark trees barks, so black moths were less notorious to predators than clear moths leading selection towards the dark phenotype and in consequence, the populational number increased.
