Find the x- intercept and y- intercept of each equation algebraically

We have the following equation
[tex]x+2y=-14[/tex]In order to determine the x-intercept, we need to make y = 0
therefore,
[tex]\begin{gathered} x+2\cdot0=-14 \\ x+0=-14 \\ x=-14 \end{gathered}[/tex]so, x-int: -14
on the other hand, in order to find the y-intercept we need to evaluate y at x = 0
therefore,
[tex]\begin{gathered} 0+2y=-14 \\ 2y=-14 \\ y=-\frac{14}{2} \\ y=-7 \end{gathered}[/tex]then, y-int: -7
