To determine the area of the figure we divide it in three rectangles as shown above. From the diagram we have:

• Rectangle I have length 11 cm and width 4 cm.

The area of a rectangle is given by:

Adding the area of each rectangle we have:

Therefore, the area of the figure is 100 square cm
