How do u turn this into a decimal (full brake down please)

We need to transform a mixed fraction into a decimal. We need to follow these steps:
1 - Transform the mixed fraction into an improper fraction, by adding the integer part (7) to the fractional part (8/45).
2 - Divide the numerator by the denominator of the improper fraction.
This is done below:
[tex]\begin{gathered} -7\frac{8}{45}=-7-\frac{8}{45} \\ \frac{-7\cdot45-8}{45}=\frac{-315-8}{45} \\ \frac{-323}{45} \end{gathered}[/tex]Now we need to apply the second step:
[tex]\frac{-323}{45}=-7.178[/tex]
