To find y - intercept as shown below

[tex]\begin{gathered} 4x+8y=16 \\ at\text{ }y-intercept,x=0 \\ 4(0)+8y=16 \\ 8y=16 \\ y=\frac{16}{8} \\ y=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

We can also write the intercepts in co-ordinate form as shown below

For x-intercept : ( 4,0 )

For y -intercept ; ( 0, 2 )
