the tens digit in a dividend is less than the divisor.The divisor has one digit.Gracie says quotient must have a zero in the tens place.Is Gracie correct?Explain

Respuesta :

Quotient = 10N + X

Divisor = D

Dividend = E

Find if N < D

E/D = 10N + X

For example if

Dividend 21 = 10•2 + 1

divisor 5

quotient= 10•0 + 4

We see quotient is 4 ,has no zero ,in the tens digit

Then Gracie is wrong
