here,

perpendicular = 32

hypotenuse = 38

base = x

so by using Pythagoras theorems

[tex]x^2+32^2=38^2[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} x^2=1444-1024 \\ x^2=420 \end{gathered}[/tex]

take root both side,

[tex]x=20.49[/tex]

thus, the length of the shadow is 20.49 m
