Solution

We have the following expression:

[tex]y=(2x+5)^2(x-4)[/tex]

We can use the product rule and we have the following:

[tex]y^{\prime}=2(2x+5)\cdot2\cdot(x-4)+(2x+5)^2\cdot(1)[/tex]

Then we can simplify and we have:

[tex]y^{\prime}=(8x+20)(x-4)+(2x+5)^2=8x^2-32x+20x-80+4x^2+20x+25[/tex]

If we simplify we got:

[tex]y^{\prime}=12x^2+8x-55[/tex]
