The soma is part of the cell body of a neuron, containing the nucleus (genetic information is stored) of that cell type and being responsible to conduct life-sustaining functions of the cell. Therefore, the only alternative that is not true about the soma is: the soma conducts outgoing messages to other neurons (this is a function of others structures of the neuron) (A).
