A Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is a record of a crime reported to law enforcement. the FBI is responsible for collecting data. Cleaned up for uncleaned crimes. the NCVS is a survey of a representative sample of US households that collects detailed information about crime victims.
This includes crimes reported to police primarily by the general public, but also crimes discovered by police officers known from other sources. Law enforcement also reports the number of criminal cases solved.
Implemented to improve the overall quality of crime data collected by law enforcement agencies, NIBRS provides information about victims, known offenders, victim-offender relationships, arrestees, and property.
