What is Schema?
A cognitive framework or idea called a schema aids in the organization and interpretation of information. Schemas are beneficial because they enable us to quickly interpret a large amount of information that is available in our surroundings.
Piaget introduced the term "assimilation" to describe how kids connect new knowledge to what they already know. As a result, whenever individuals learn anything new, they attempt to match it to what has previously been stored in their mental knowledge structure. They don't alter their schemas (pattern of knowledge) during this process; instead, they just relate it to what they already know. When the existing information is modified to incorporate new information, this is called accommodation.
