Function: y = 4|x| - 1.
Domain: R (all real numbers).
Range: As we know, the absolute value of x is always a non-negative number:
|x| >= 0
4|x| >= 4 * 0
4|x| >= 0
4|x| - 1 >= -1
y >= -1 <----- this is the range
