Anna has 20 pints of green paint. she uses 2/5 of it to paint a landscape and 3/10 of it while painting a clover. she decides that, for her next painting, she will need 12 3/4 pints of green paint. how much more paint will she need to buy?

First we have to find out how much green paint Anna lost by finding 2/5 and 3/10. 20 ÷ 5 = 4, 4 × 2 = 8 pints. 20 ÷ 10 = 2, 2 × 3 = 6 pints. 8 + 6 = 14 pints. 20 - 14 = 6 pints left. If she needs 12 3/4 pints in total, then you just have to do 12 - 6 to get 6 3/4 pints more that you need. I hope this helps!
