Answer: Refined wood and stone tools were developed during the early Joman period. They were used for hunting, farming, fishing, sewing, and crafting. Needles were made from bones, and wicker baskets were woven for storage and use. They also developed different types of pottery the word "Joman" means "cord-marked" or "patterned" and it is a direct reference to the pottery made during this time. Potter's used a hand-building technique where coils of clay were stacked upon each other and smoothed using stone tools. Fibers and crushed shells were mixed with the clay to give it texture and strength. An outdoor bonfire was used to bake the clay and turn it into stone. Pots had flat bottoms and were often designed for indoor use such as a storage and indoor cooking.
