Spanish has two ways of saying “you”. One is used to convey a formal relationship and one is used in informal relationships. The formal form of “you” can also be used to show respect. What is your opinion on this? Do you think it is useful? Or do you think it is confusing and unnecessary?
Your response should be 3-5 sentences long and show that you’ve thought about the topic/question at hand. Please be aware we are looking for your personal opinion and there is not a single “correct answer.”
I personally think that using two different forms of “you” is very helpful in Spanish. It helps differentiate the difference with who we are speaking to. I would not speak to my manager at my job the same way I would speak to my sister. Using a more formal version of the word helps a lot overall because it is showing respect to those of authority.
