If you have learned point slope form this one is easy. y – y1 = m(x – x1). That is the formula for point slope. You leave the plain x and y as is and put in the point you are given for X1 and y1. M= your slope. So for your problem, y-1=3(x-(-2)) simplify y=3(x+2)+1, y=3x+6+1. Y=3x+7 is your final answer

y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-1=3(x-(-2))
y-1=3(x+2)
y=3x+6+1
or y=3x+7
