Amino acids are also proteins biomolecules found present in organisms. These amino acids put together in various combinations makes up the various proteins. There is also the presence of some chemical/functional group in them.
The chemical groups found in all 20 amino acids includes:
Amino group (−NH2)
Carboxyl group (−COOH) (2 and 3)
- The basic functional group common to all the 20 amino acid is the presence of an amine group and a carboxyl group.
- There is also the presence of an R-group which makes them unique on their own enabling us to identify the type of amino acid it is.
- These R-group could be H or CH3 and the likes.
