To find the area of B, you would find the area of the whole square as if it was shaded, and a find area of a square, it’s just length times width, so it would be 4 times 4 to give you 16! Then, you would find the area of the non-shaded portion in the middle, which would be 3 times 3 (using the length times width formula) to give you 9! You would then subtract 16-9 to give you the area of JUST the shaded portion, which is 5! 5 would be your final answer for b!
