The Judge in the Flowers Paradigm is similar to the review and edit step of the writing process.

Flowers Paradigm is a writing process created by Dr. Betty S. Flowers. In this paradigm, she divides the writing process into four stages, in order to help writers write in a more regulated and organized way. These stages are called Madman, Architect, Carpenter, and Judge.

Regarding the stage called Judge, we can state that:

  • This stage refers to the moment when a text is finalized.
  • This stage aims to review and edit the possible errors that the text presents.
  • In this case, the writer must judge what he has written and decide what is incorrect and irrelevant in the text.
  • Thus, the writer determines a verdict for the information in the text, determining which ones will remain in the text and which ones will be excluded.
