The Declaration of Independence came into light as a result of the King’s behavior and he committing a lot of atrocities against the people. This led to a revolution and the people calling for independence which became a success.
The King started acting like a dictator and imposing several laws as against the wish of the people such as tax and military imposition on the people and refusing to allow the people to have a free and fair hearing.
These were the major grievances by the people. The King didn’t prevent trade with other countries as he was more concerned with the tax collections.
