The wind had already fanned the bakery fire into a firestorm by the time large-scale demolitions were ordered on Sunday night, defeating such measures. The death toll is unknown, but it is thought to be in the low hundreds. Everyone in the area grabbed their items and fled out of their beloved houses. Thousands of houses were burned down but they were all eventually rebuilt but it took many years. The fire continued to burn and lasted for around four straight days. The wind continued to change direction and fanned out the fire to different areas. Finally, the fire stopped and even though few people lost their lives, the fire was one of the worst in the 17th century.

The fire was propelled to further limits because since winter was coming, people had stocked up on oil and other things that were easy for fire to catch on. Then there was a wind from the East that spread the fire, causing a mass panic. It was unfortunate that where the fire started was in a poor area, where the foundation of the building were not sturdy and close together powering the fire even more. Eventually the fire stopped and the casualties were not insane, but 80% of the building were destroyed in the blaze.
