since the circuit is parallel both resistor have same voltage and different current value according to OHMs law.

total resistance in parallel=

1/R=1/R1+1/R2+...+1/Rn

since we have two resistor in parallel

Rt=R1R2/R1+R2

2*4/2+4=4/3 ohms

I=V/R

12/4/3=36/4=9Amp

OR

I=12/2=6amp

I=12/4=3amp

total current

I=6+3

9amp
