On a scale drawing 1/4inch=1 foot. What are the dimensions on the scale drawing of a room that is actually 8 feet by 16 feet?

The drawing will be 2 by 4 inches.

Steps:

1) convert the fraction into a decimal: .25

2) multiply this decimal by the values 8 and 16: 8(.25)     16(.25)

3) Solve:  8(.25)=2   16(.25)=4
