1.if half a gallon costs $1.24 what is the cost per pint?
2.what is the total cost of a $12.50 item plus 6 % sales tax?

1. 31 cents - half a gallon is equal to 4 pints. 1.24 divided by 4 = $0.31

2. $13.25 - first, do 6 percent of $12.50. 6 percent of $12.50 = $0.75. $12.50 + $0.75 = $13.25
