Then there are the myriad types of environment in existence on the surface of the earth like within the oceans and at different levels within the oceans, within lakes that say form marl from the calcareous shells of organisms, and then on land anything from frozen tundra (caribou, muskox) to icy mountains (mountain goats) to deserts with rattlesnakes and coyotes and the tropical environments with monkeys etc. Also, there is the fossil record of plants and animals which show the progression from more primitive to more developed and advanced forms of life from single-celled organisms in Precambrian times to dinosaurs say 65 million years ago to mankind and his ancestors up to say 2 million years ago.
