Ratio of butter to flour that is to be used for making pie dough is :-

Let x be the quantity of butter needed .

[tex] = \frac{2}{3} \times 7 = \frac{7}{4} x[/tex]
[tex] = \frac{14}{3} = \frac{7}{4} x[/tex]
[tex] = \frac{7}{4} x = \frac{14}{3} [/tex]
[tex] = x = \frac{14}{3} \div \frac{7}{4} [/tex]
[tex] = x = \frac{14}{3} \times \frac{4}{7} [/tex]
[tex] = x = \frac{56}{21} [/tex]
[tex] = x = \frac{8}{3} [/tex]
Therefore , this recipe would need :-
[tex] \frac{8}{3} \: or \: 2 \frac{2}{3}\: cups \: of \: butter \: .[/tex]
