4x + 5y = 10 Question: A. Convert the equation to slope intercept form and justify each step. B. Explain how to graph the linear function. C. Graph the linear function.
Do you know what slope intercept form is? y = mx + b m being the slope b being the y-intercept
So all you have to do is isolate y to get: 5y = -4x + 10 y= -4/5x + 2
We can see the slope is -4/5 and the function intercepts the y axis when at y = +2
To graph the function, start at the y-intercept since we know where it is. That’s (0,2). Now the slope says down 4 and right 5. Or you could do up 4 and left 5
