A residual is a measure of how well a line fits an individual data point. Testing the two other points can really help to see how well the line fits.

The conclusion about the residuals of the other two given points is; It is not a good fit.

What is Regression residual?

A residual is defined as the difference between what is plotted in your scatter plot at a specific point, and what the regression equation predicts "should be plotted" at that specific point. This is to help us to determine if a curve is appropriate for the given data.

A residual can either be positive, negative, or zero. Now, If the model is a good fit, then it means the absolute values of the residuals are relatively small since the residual points will be evenly dispersed about the horizontal axis. Otherwise, it is not a good fit.

Now, in the attached points given, we can see that the residual points are not evenly dispersed about the horizontal axis and as such we can say it is not a good fit.
