im bad at writing poems is this a good poem? should I add to it in any way or change it?

life is like an hourglass.
Slowly going down the vast
Like playing in the sand
Or walking through the grass

Life goes by so fast
Falling like sand
Try to stop it with your hand
It will eventually overflow
And drop into the below

Often like a desert
The ahead in life is utterly unknown
Just like the sandy biomes weather
Nice and warm in the sunny zone
Or cold and frightening in the night lone
