10% can be represented as 0.1 in decimal form. So to find out 10% of $75, all we have to do is 75*0.1 which gives us 7.5

That 7.5 is telling us that that is how much 10% is worth making Coupon A better as you are getting an extra two dollars and fifty cents off.
