DNA sequencing is a technique employed in biology to determine the physical order of arrangement of nucleotide in a gene. This technique has helped in the determination of similar and related organisms. Asides this, it has also be used in forensic studies and research. Using DNA sequencing technologies, scientists have been able to discoveries of animals with shared genes. If after sequencing the genome of domestic cats and it' exhibit genetic similarities, it goes to show that house cats and their wild counterparts are genetically related and it could be that the wild cats were domesticated along time ago by man to use as pets.
