Find the solutions for (x-3)^2=5.
Take the square root of both sides (x−3=±√5), next put the probelm into two equations: x−3=√5 & x−3=−√5.
1st equation: x−3=√5 becomes x=√5+3
2nd equation: x−3=−√5 becomes x=−√5+3
x=√5+3 and −√5+3 are your solutions.
