In Antigone, the Chorus is made up of a group of old Theban men, and they represent in some way the deeply embedded partiarchal (male-dominated) society that Antigone defies.

In Antigone, the tragedy written by Sophocles in 441 BC, the Chorus is made up of a group of Theban men, probably of old aged because most of the young ones have just died in battle.

Such chorus represents the people of the central Greek city of Thebes who attempt to talk rationality into the main character and the King, Antigone, and Creon respectively.
